When the owner of a newly purchased property up in the hills in the Los Feliz area decided to do a total remodel of the existing home, Digitronic, Inc. was contracted to provide all the low voltage systems. The original home was built in the 1920s, sitting on a magnificent piece of property overlooking Los Angeles with an 180 degree view, but was long overdue for a total renovation. A whole new wing was added, and a separate building that was designed and built for the Home Theater expanding the living spaces to just above 13,000 Sq FT.

Early on in the design process, the owner expressed interest in placing all the equipment out of sight, so a system was designed to allow all the components in a central location to avoid having individual pieces of equipment spread out in the individual rooms. This also made it possible to allow access to view any source in any room in the house, so the owner could record a TV show in one room and watch it later in a different room.
A Lutron Homeworks lighting control system was installed as well as a Crestron control system to allow access to the various sub systems in a easy and intuitive way. Camera images was feed to the touch panels as well, so when someone rings the door intercom, the gate camera will automatically be displayed and the owner can grant a visitor access with a push of a button directly on the touch panel.

A large theater room was added for watching movies with the ability to rent and stream movies directly over the internet in High Definition. A Stewart Filmscreen motorized projector screen was installed as well as a Triad Speaker Array System for an unprecedented visual and sound experience. A Crestron control system with a 6” Crestron wireless touch panel tied all the elements together to give the owner easy control over the audio, video, lights and thermostats.
